Hi, I have an apartment at Patara City, but do not live their. Patara City does have its own message forum, but is private, for owners only. We decided that to stop outsiders putting negative comments on and hi-jacking the threads, we would keep it for owners only. You will find it is a very well run site, with the builders still running the management of it, but owners to be taking over soon. There is a management committee amongst the owners, who put forward any problems to the builders. Once you get on to the forum you will be able to read everything that has gone on. The person that runs the board is Nicci Welsh, and her email address is niccidean@homecall.co.uk . Tell her that Stella gave you her email address and say hi for me. She lives in England. Best wishes for your new home, I'm sure you will be very happy their.

Hi Nemika, We live on Patara, although we are back in the UK for a couple of months. Maybe we will see you in Feb when we get back. If you have any questions about the site we may be able to help you. Sue

Nemika, The best thing you could do I would think is get in touch with Nicci, and get yourself on to the forum, then you can get all your answers. I know they have their own well on site, but couldn't tell you what the TV reception is like.

Hi We do not have a problem with the water as the site has a well. We do not get mains water as yet, but will be connected in the new year. So at the moment we do not pay for the water, but will when the mains is connected and the meters are connected to each tank. Digiturk dishes are already in place with the cables so you just pay a small connection charge but you will need a box, they may well just transfer your account. The maintainence charge is £35 at present, but is increasing to £50 in jan!! Please let me know if you need any more info or email us on thehutlapta@gmail.com. Sue

Hi We never ran out of water in the summer, although they did do some maintainence on one of the wells so it was empty for a while. The site managers rotated the supply so that everyone had a share. It came on every three days, so as long as you were careful it was ok. Some people did have tankers though. Don't worry about the water! The indoor pool is part of the "Patara Club" so is not open yet. It is going to be run privately but if you are a resident you get a reduction in the membership. it really isn't that noisy, they have fitted speed humps so the cars cannot race around, and yes there are students but they are not a problem. In fact they are very nice and friendly. Sue

Hi It is very confusing! Basically the outdoor pool, terraces and tennis/volleyball, basketball court are in use and for Patara residents. the gym, sauna, bars and indoor pool are part of the patara club which the developer was hoping to rent out as a seperate enterprise. It has not been fitted out yet and is like an empty shell although the pool has been filled, nobody has rented it yet! When it is finished Patara residents will get a discounted membership for the club if they want to use it. The nursery school building is finished, but again needs someone to rent it and run it. And at the moment there are 2 shops taken a bank and a little grocer shop, the rest of the shops are empty. When the generator is fitted (not done yet) it will be for common areas only.. street lights & internal stairways only, not for the flats. It will be lovely when it is finished!!!! Sue

Hi Mitsi, Patara City is a development of 258 apartment just past July 20 stadium in Girne. If you turn right at the roundabout past Astro in town, past the stadium it is on the right, you can't miss it security barrier and a gate house. Sue

Hi! Chris & Sue thanks for the very useful info! Sorry to bother again about all this but myself & my fiance are now thinking of buying a property on Patara city, am mostly attracted to the central location and big communal pool, just wondering from people who lived there if it is as great as it seems and as we don't have a car if you find food shoping etc easy, I noticed the little grocery shop on the complex was empty at the moment, also are there sun loungers out in the summer around the pool for all residents to use? There weren't any out today and it seems hot enough for sun-bathing to me! Look forward to your comments and joining in the forum fun & hopefully meeting you all around the pool for a drink at Patara! NatAless (Natasha)

PS The indoor complex is being worked on from what I saw today and looks like it will be really nice when finished! The sun shines down onto the indoor pool aswell :0) Nemika, I saw a mixture of English and Turkish/Turkish Cypriot people living there and some small children, there must be more children but they were probably at school or nursery as my viewing was in the morning!
