I only know of 2, 1 at The Rocks and 1 near Jasmine Court. Which is better?

In my limited experience the Rockss is far superior with prices being very similar.

The Dragon at the Rocks has closed down so has the one close to Jasmin Court. There is a take away Chinese in Alsancak in the previous Guido's premises. There is the China Garden in Catalkoy and a Chinese takeaway in Catalkoy (top end).

There is also a takeaway behind Astro in Girne, on the Zeytinlik road.

Didn't know the Dragon had gone.... they always seemed to have a decent number of customers in whenever I went in there. There is definitely space for a good chinese place out there, most that have opened over the past couple of years have been very poor.

I went to the take-away,ex Guido's in Alsancak.Not impressed !!!

Ordered Sweet and Sour pork, and had a glass of beer whilst waiting.

I only had 2 sips of my beer, and the food arrived.

I can only assume it had been micro-waved,and it tasted like it.

Too tough,and not tasty

Mike - I spoke to you while you were waiting. It was my first time there as well. Have to agree with you - there was something lacking. It was just ok, but I won't rush back.

Have to say when it first opened it was fine - had one last night though and was not much cop - edible but not impressed, Mikelapta have to agree - the food is ready too quickly to be freshly prepared....and the cost!!!! way too expensive - no wonder its never busy!

Are you sure the Dragon is closed? a real shame if it has! - that is top notch.

If it is true about the Dragon then I am amazed. Definitely the best by far and I thought owned by The Rocks hotel, and always seemed to have a good trade. Perhaps a post from someone connected with the rocks/dragon would clarify.

Were we not led to believe that the Ex Guido's chineese was to be operated by the rocks team, if this is the case then something must have gone horribly wrong. Looks on our next visit we will definitely have one cuisine that we will suffer withdrawal symptoms as the majority of the other chineese restaraunts/ take aways are crap.

I went to the one at the Rocks Hotel a few weeks ago, excellent food. Most other chinese restaurants prepare and cook the food during the day and reheat it in the evenings, thats why all the veg are soggy. I hope the Rocks has not closed down, a bit on the expensive side but well worth the money, properly freshly stir fried food.

Msg 15

China House has been there for Donkey's years, but has changed hands several times.

Sometimes good in the past & other times not so good. Like many restaurants in N Cyprus. Lack of consistency.

The best place to eat chinese please? (sic)

Try China, a big Country with plenty of regional choice cuisine!

I agree - Sushi-Co is the best by far. We go to the one near the big Deniz Plaza in Lefkosa. Great food that tastes perfect.

china garden is the best by far, only 25tl per person for their set menu as well, a starter and a main course with either rice or noodles or a main and a dessert. Their spare ribs are to die for!

Kelly, have you been to Sushi-Co?

Justin, it gets a bit expensive, also... by the time you get home the rice is cold!

We have tried the Alsancak Dragon take a way twice, very disappointing! Real shame as we were thrilled when we heard that it was opening up, just down the road from home, great!! We will not be rushing back.
