I read in the news today that this film about a HUMAN CENTIPEDE is being an 18 rating and released in the UK.

"Ian Sadler, the sales director for Eureka Entertainment, the UK distributor of the film said: "We are really pleased that after nearly four months of detailed discussion and debate, we have been able to reach an agreement with the BBFC and to produce a very viable cut of the film which will both excite and challenge its fans. Naturally we have a slight disappointment that we have had to make cuts, but we feel that the storyline has not been compromised and the level of horror has been sustained"

I can't understand what sort of enjoyable "Storyline" they are talking about. Can a Horror Movie lover please enlighten me?

I've just Googled this. There is currently a Part 2 (sequel) of this film. I think it's about to be released in he USA. I read the synopsis of the first part (that has just been given release rights, with cuts) in the UK and it sounded dreadful. Dreadful that is until I read the synopsis of the sequel. Why anyone would choose to go and pay good money to see this is beyond me. I'm speaking as a person who actually likes a horror film, but this, in my opinion, is not horror, it's pure depravity.

As for enjoyable "storyline" I honestly have no idea; I could see nothing enjoyable from their description. For me, as a bit of a horror film fan, "enjoyable" would mean the amount of suspense involved.

The British Board Of Film Censor's ( BBFC ) are the people who know more than they think we ought to.

I watched this film on DVD earlier this year because my wife and I like the occasional horror flick - in hindsight it was a pretty extreme film and not hugely enjoyable so my advice would be to give it a miss.

As far as horror movies go I'm a bit of a wimp and only prefer the odd Vampire, Dracula, Frankenstein or ghost story.

Maybe I'm a bit prudish but I can't understand the pleasure in watching this sort of stuff.

DD - I don't think it's the type of film you need to watch with a big pillow, more with a sick bag placed conveniently close by - especially the sequel
