Having had a Turkcell 3 G internet connection for over 2 years here in Girne it has by and large been fine. However the last two days it has slowed considerably and wondered if this has been happening to anyone else. Turkcell by the way have said there is no problem, well they would wouldnt they.

Is Telsim any better ?

Same in Alsancak since yesterday pm. Skype barely usable. Also been told no problem with Turkcell but it must be.

you guys must be rich, but not for long if you keep using 3G

Go with multimax and get an unlimited connection for 60TL and that will be the end of your problems.

Speedtest to Istanbul 5 mins ago through my Turkcell dongle shows download about 70% of our normal, but upload bandwidth is almost non existent. Ping 833, download 3.35. Upload 0.06

Message 4, thats good if you don't live behind a hill, in a valley, or anywhere where Turkcell / Telsim is all that is available!

My nethouse has been slow all week (when it's been on at all)

Just done a speedtest Ping 166, down 2.86 mbs, upload virtually non existant.

Multimax may well be hearing from me next month.

@brightlights, we are specializing and working very hard to reach those hard to reach areas. (I guess we can use the same sentence for a cleaning product commercial .

Email us at info@multimaxcyprus.com, maybe we already got you covered.

With a ping of 883 and 0.06 upload, skype is not possible. you need max of 300 ping and 0.25 upload to have voice only communication in ideal conditions (no other software on computer using any internet, no jitter etc).

With a 2Mbit multimax connection you get around 25-50 ping to Istanbul and our upload is 1Mbit for such a connection.

@ msg 9, kbasat: Compliments! I wish my provider Nethouse Networks did half as good giving information to the customers. Never ever an excuse or explanation about downtime or anything else from NN. Another downtime this week was only taken care of after 9 am - as usual.
