Has anyone been caught speeding on the motorway in a TRNC registered car ? ..



How would the ticket be presented & how would you pay the fine ? ..

We got caught by a hand held camera in the Troodos area a few years ago. Instant ticket and it had to be paid within 15 days. Unfortunately, we misheard and thought we had longer which resulted in the fine being doubled when we presented it about 20 days after the event. They aren't able to put points on your licence. The nearest police station to Metehan: turn right onto main road and go straight ahead to the T junction (near Coca Cola factory), turn left and continue straight ahead until you see the police station on RHS. I think it is through a couple of traffic lights but it was some time ago. Can't remember what we had to produce but we had our passports and driving licences.

Well,if they don't or can't catch you to issue the ticket there & then,your number plates go into the police network PC's and your will be told next time you go through a checkpoint.(at least that's how it works at Metehan, because they have number plate recognition cameras that warn them when a car with an offence approach)

You can pay the fine at any police station..

How slow are they in the north at issuing tickets, I was given one at Ercan a few weeks ago the offence early May 2010 ?

I have been back and forward 3 times since but not a word said ?
