Hello

I am living in Kyrenia and working in Lefkosa every afternoon

I have been booking a Kombos but the time I spend waiting for them to fill up is taking up to 2 hours some days

Today I eventually had to grab a taxi so I could make it to work on time. Transport costs outweighed my income today hahaha

Is there an alternative way to get to Lefkosa from Kyrenia?

Is there a regular bus or Dolmus that goes to Lefkosa?

If so, where can I catch it from?

I live near Coffee Time cafe and I am very close to the main road

Any useful comments/advice appreciated :o)

You want to get a bus - which here generally look like mini buses.

Some info here

You can catch the Girneliler Seyahat buses from opposite the post office, they leave every half hour full or not.

Just make sure you get on the Lefkosa one! 4.5tl each way

Also, does anyone know if these buses from the post office will drop me off in Lefkosa where I ask them to go?

For example, I currently tell the Kombos "Pizza Pronto" and they know where that is and they drop me off there on their way to Kyrenia gate.

Any help again appreciated. Thanks!

I am no expert on such things AussieLass as I do not use these buses myself. However my understanding is they follow a set route but will pick up and drop off anywhere on that route that it is remotely safe to do so.

On the rare occasions I have used them they do not generally drive as crazy as some (many) taxis / dolmushes do here. They do have a worrying tendancy to sometimes leave doors open when its hot, which is a bit worrying.

The buses go via the victory roundabout past the hospital to Kyrenia GateTry it,before you get on the bus, tell the driver where you want to get off.And to be sure, get up by the exit and say "Dur.lutfen"...Stop please !!!

Awesome.

Dur luften it will be.

And thanks for the info re: the speed. I am still recovering.

There was actually a cypriot lady in the Kombos with her head INSIDE her handbag the whole time we were on the highway because she was scared.

Hmmmm.... haha

I am loving the "adventure" I am on right now but would prefer the speed to be a little slower!
