I think the above comments are quite rude. The thread was begun in English, if this is a Forum then why write in Turkish so that it is beyond the comprehension of most of us.

Perhaps you could start your own Turkish language Forum

suehowlittle;

And who on earth gave you the right or the authority to tell other people in this forum "to go start a Turkish language forum". I think your comment is more rude, than the few exchanges between two people in Turkish! Perhaps, if you are living in N.Cyprus, you should make an attempt to learn Turkish! The person does not have an email address shown, so the exchange that followed would not have been of much interest to anyone else - what's so rude about that?

By the way, just in case you have not noticed, this is a "North Cyprus Forum" hosted in my country where the language is predominantly Turkish. There are many Turkish Cypriots who are members here, and who had in the past exchanged brief messages in their own language. The last thing they want is someone like yourself patronising the Turkish speaking people living here and coming up with a racist shite as above! If you do not like it, you know where you can go back to...

Big Oz. I will refrain from judgment because I don't know you, as per your membership note. However the Turkish exchange with your pal is pure filth. There is little or no justification for this sort of language on here. IMHO

I will not comment about the exchanges in Turkish but I do not understand the reaction about its contents. They are normal exchanges one expressing sorrow about the other closing his shop and he is saying it was a hard decision butonce made there is no going back. So they are hoping to meet more often from now on. there is no bad language or anything near it.

So right Stonehousepub. I suppose I really apologised for my sake and others and who live here in harmony who risk being identified with ignorant louts. And I hate being made to feel ashamed to be British.

stubbs1,I dont know who idiot you are but when you write somethig about me, I advice you to be carefull.You dont know me and you have no right to talk about me.You must learn first what respect means.Dont even try to teach me the meaning of respect.Thats my space so I can write whatever I believe there.You look like a fearful hero man and you mean nothing to me.

Okan Bey Msg 1 - Most sorry to hear that you have to close the shop. World wide all trade is becoming very hard.

We have been past many times and in twice (we try to buy "local") unhappily you could not supply what we wanted.

I think some explanation here will be helpful. Message no. 6 talks about meeting often, the Turkish word for often is "Sık" but the letter "i" without the dot is found only in Turkish and it can appear in funny ways on some computers. thus many of us write "i" with the dot. Thus the word "often" appears as "sik" and that in Turkish is the male organ or the verb that goes with it. Hence if your Turkish is not sufficient or you happen to rely on machine translation, it can go very wrong. I think this is what has happened in this thread.

So the tower of Babel strikes again.! A little knowledge is a dangerous thing!

Better be very careful how we pronounce "sık" as well, hadnt we?

To my shame I cant speak or read and write Turkish but I have studied it, know the alphabet and have Turkish as an option on my language bar (if only so I can get names and addresses correct)- and it also appears correctly on my PC

But there are quite a few anatomical words and bodily functions used inappropriately on this forum in English without rebuke ,and I still think some of the comments about the use of Turkish were offensive.

I did actually manage to translate that part of the message "very often" made sense in the context and I didnt even notice the supfluous dot on the "i" - perhaps I just have a particularly pure and innocent mind!!!

Only an iota of difference!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Why do we have to be rude to each other it's a very very small world and this is a unbelievably minuscule part of it! Elko2 thank you for the explanation and for trying yet again to poor oil on troubled waters.
