Hello all.Just returned from an inspection trip with Burchell Edwards,Nicky and David were fantastic,no pressure,great advice and very helpful even when we told them we were not buying but want to rent instead.Learned a lot and we have decided that is where we want to be,absolutely loved the place and the people.We are hoping to come out next summer to live.

Just got a couple of questions; We have been told by sunny lane school there is a waiting list for next years year 7,if a place is not available would we have to send them to a turkish school?

We have also been told that to open a high interest account you have to own land or property on the island...is this true?

their are many other private schools in girine like Guvence Pre-School in Ozankoy 90 533 845 9990 Bizim Ev Nursery in Catalkoy 90 533 841 7050, Girne Children’s Nursery 90 533 848 1409, Elma Sekeri in Nicosia 90 533 868 1711 and Maarif Pre-Primary School 90 392 815 3388 there is also a school in the south called highgate school that many people in the north send their kids they also provide a bus service from girine with one parent taking turns each week to be the bus and passport supervisor link provided below

p.s cressy whoever told you that you need to own a property to open a high intrest account is spaeking out of their backsides like i said to you before in earlier post all you need is copies of your passports and most importantly money i have heard in some cases that some people had to show rental contracts or deeds to open a acoount but belive you me that is in the worst case anyway you will be ok because if you rent you will have a rental contract

so dont worry stick to this forum for help and belive you me you wont go wrong!!

Hi Cressy. Re. Sunny Lane, my son is in the current year 6 (year 7 next year) and yes they are full, but there are always people leaving - going back to England etc. and things change very quickly, so don't worry too much. There is also Girne American University, although sorry I can't provide you with the number - I'm sure ukturk will step in!



Good luck, we moved out here this summer and we are all loving it - the kids especially are loving school.

Thanks guys...that has put my mind at rest.The kids will be regestered at sunny lane very soon and will keep my fingers crossed regarding places becomming available.

We are putting the house up for sale after xmas,as soon as its sold it will be goodbye England...cant wait.

you have to remeber i am a cypriot and been goin back and forwards to cyprus for all my life (apart from 74 to 77) and lived there and in turkey (know quite a bit on turkey too) for the last 8 years, and all that i have learned ive taken notes from loads of books both turkish and greek and my own experiances and it puts a smile on my face when i can help someone!!!
