Hello All

Firstly, many thanks to Dutch Crusader. İ have downloaded will template and info sheet from your web-site and intend to register early next week.

Can someone settle these queries please

What kind of stamps (35.50TL) and (6TL) are required? A friend says İ should ask for Govt Stamps - is this correct?

(İ assume these are the current required stamp values required?)

Can İ telephone the Registrar to make an appointment, if so what is her number and does she speak English? Or do İ go in person to make one?

Finally, just to confirm, do my witnesses have to come to the Registrar and sign in her pressence or not? My friend says yes but Dutch seems to say no.

Many thanks for any replies

Padisha

Stamps: they have to be "Revenue Stamps" obtainable from post office and tax officies. They are called "Damga Pulu" in Turkish.

No appointment but enquire about times and days.

No need for wittnesses to be present.

Have your id card or passport with you.

Re: will registration.

Could you please help me with the information ( perhaps elko2 knows)?

I have conflicting information about the jurisdiction of the courts.

Do you have to register your will in the court in the same area as your property, e.g. if I have a property in Famagusta district, can I register my will in Girne?

Thank you.

As far as I know yoıu can register it with any court but I would prefer to do it with the district court where you reside. The principle is that you do not have to register your Sale agreement with the Tapu nor your will with the court but if you do so you may be in a better position.

Re: Msg 7,

Ismet, thank you very much.

Your answer explains very well why I had conflicting replies in the past.

We made our TRNC wills about 5 years ago, our advocate is holding them, when I asked about registering them she said it is not necessary. Could you advise reasons to register a will.
