It's looking likely that I will have to bite the bullet, and report my car logbook as lost. Has anybody been down this route before?

Kind Regards

Nigel

Hi Harry

Can you re-read your post and identify the helpful elements of your post. I appear to have missed them?

I thought i had lost one once, and as far as I can remember you need to go to the Police Station and get a report to enable you to receive a duplicate. The police wanted about 27TL worth of stamps as well although that has probably gone up as this was about 4 years ago now!

I had my car document case with all the car stuff, stolen out of my car about 4 years ago(I hadn't locked the car). My Cypriot friend went to Lefkosia and got me a new log book, and now I keep photo copies in my car, and originals at home. I don't know if you still have to go to Lefkosia, but probably can do it in Girne now, but the police will be able to give you the latest info.

Hi all, and thanks for the help

The gods are shining on us as we have finally found our missing docs. I was not looking forward to trampsing here and there to obtain duplicates of everything. Having an open top jeep, we do tend to carry the docs with us. However after this I am scanning them all to disc, and keeping photo copies in the car, and originals in the safe. Anyhow the hard top will be going on soon, so the vehicle will then be secure.

Harry

Thanks for passing on the phone number. I will add Cyprusharv's details to my little black book

Cheers

Nigel
