Went across last night about 2140, only to find ALL the insurance offices closed, policeman told me they all close at 2130. I know in the past I have brought insurance at 2230 and even later, though only one of the offices were open.

So if you are going to cross late make sure you have your insurance beforehand.

The MOT office closes at 14.30 except Wednesdays when apparently it is open later. We found this out when trying to cross at 14.45 today, at least they have built that nice new slip road so you can turn back easier!

The GC policewoman was very nice & friendly which made the disappointment easier to bear.

I thought that as well about the slip road. My policeman wasn't so friendly, though he did laugh at me!

Are the insurance offices at the crossing points closing at the earlier time of 21:30 just for the winter months?

In Sept; my mother got caught out but was told this was becasue the officer had packed up and left early to start his holiday (guess we are all entitled to one!!) His replacement started at 7 /8 am the following morning.

Would be nice to know the seasonal opening times are!

Sorry Geoff (Msg 3) the Famagusta and "Pyla" insurance offices are closed by 6PM. When did you last buy insurance?

Having said that.....If you ask the lady at Beyarmudu (the office is in her house) she will help if possible.

Re Msg 9. I bought Insurance at the Famagusta crossing (for a friend) last Month (Oct) at about 8.30 pm.

I have this morning had a drive over there - dodging the storms!, and indeed you are right - they have reverted to 6.00 pm closing for Insurance.
