If you use google to search and you would like to use Google.com then you may have noticed that you can not access the .com domain, only the .com.tr

Here is some information on how to fix it.

Hi, as most folk on this site are probably Brits they might prefer a .co.uk search prioritisation ..imagine looking for a price comparison site and getting a US sites in USD !

Using a UK VPN Google should automatically go to a google.co.uk search... if you haven't used the 'fix' !

Still the fact remains that you can not use the google.com website in northern Cyprus without being redirected to the .com.tr domain unless you use the http://google.com/ncr link or you use an IP cloaking service like this one

http://northerncyprus.info/how-to-get-bbc-tv-channels-in-cyprus/ which will also allow you to watch the BBC iplayer in Cyprus as well.

If using an internet connection that shows you are in turkey and you type http://www.goolge.com you will be redirected to google.com.tr (google turkey). However at the bottom of the page is a link that says google in english, which if you click it will take you to google.com and this will be remebered, so the next time you go straight to google.com, with the option at the bottom saying goto google turkiye.

I am sure your way works kibbay, but its not the only way. As long as your browser is not set to reject cookies or the like you can easily say you want google.com (english) the first time you visit and it will stay that way on future visits. At least that how it works for me if I use a net connection that shows me being in turkey

If you use Chrome you can set the default for google to .co.uk quite simply.

Just go to Options, Basics and set Homepage, Open this page to http://www.google.co.uk/
