The following is copied from another topic that was closed: In fact this message must have been posted simultineously with that closing the topic!!:- I agree discussion on this particular incident should be closed. We will never know all the fact and gossip wont help. The owner of the bar in question apparently took the correct action - called the Police and banned the offenders. Lets hope other bar owners follow the example. What should NOT be forgotten is the harm that this sort of incident does to he majority of law abiding well behaved expatriate population - particularly those of us who have lived here a long time and regard North Cyprus as our home. Turkish Cypriots are on the whole remarkably laid back and tolerant but they reach a point of losing patience and when they do they came down HARD! There is already evidence they are getting p******d off (I dont usually swear but this is the only way to express it. continued........................

What can be done to let these louts know that this type of behaviour is not acceptable to the majority of the expatriate community and will not continue to be tolerated, and to resssure our Cypriot hosts that most of us are well intentioned and well behaved and respect their customs. So that those of us who are committed to spend the rest of our lives inthis country can do so in peace and amnity with our neighbours, without relationship being and even the enjoyment of a quiet evening out being ruined by our own compatriots. PS Post addressed to the British because we are a majority but if you are not British but are an expatriate and the cap fits.......................!

Turtle: I posted the message intending to finish by saying that while the particular incident should be closed, the issue which arose from it of bad behaviour generally should be addressed (I though that was clear fromthe second para of my first message) and I would start a new topic. But I ran out of space and when I went back to finish it the thread had been closed! Obviously simultaneous posting by myself and the mod who closed the thread. To save retyping I cut and pasted the earlier message here I am used to a forum where more space is allowed for message and have to admit I find it verydifficult to adjust. Sorry if it was confusing.
