I am looking for a reliable builder to take out the old fire brick from the fireplace and renew it.

Is there anyone out there who can do the job or can someone recommend somebody.

if it's an old house,I'd strongly recommend to find a local fire place builder.

There is a turkish(now citizen) guy (AKÇORA BUİLDİNG) in Lapta. He had built his own along with a fantastic hand made outdoor clay oven...............that I sometimes get to have some lovely bread from.

The way he had built them is just an art.But this is not a recommendation, since I've only seen his own.

I strongly recommend they learn how to build safe domestic chimneys and fireplaces. http://www.ehow.com/how_7638940_install-terra-cotta-flue-liner.html

agreed , not a job for someone inexperienced. a proper chimney is important . health wise and cost wise .. you can end up burning more than you need to if its not made right and theres the obvious carbon monoxide issues.. they need to be experienced with real recomendations..
