Just got back from NC yesterday. Spent a week over there and enjoyed temperatures of about 28 degrees most days.

What made me chuckle was the number of people who told me that summer was over. In fact, many of the beach attractions had closed down. Don't the TC's know that 28 degrees is bloody damn hot for an English person. We rarely enjoy these temperatures at the height of summer here in the UK. These sort of temperatures cause us to do strange things like jumping naked in to lakes and rivers or driving 200 miles to the nearest beach where we pack ourselves in like sardines, fighting our way down to the sea

We are often in NC mid April when the weather (to us) is great, but beach bars are all closed

Hi kcboro, I have never visited in November so have never experienced it, however it must be warmer than the UK. If you look at the average weather, you will see that November averages 22 degrees and December 19. From what i understand overcast days can be colder, and the evenings cold.

Hi kcboro

it is defo warmer than the u.k around nov time you can get some really lovely sunny days (t-shirt weather) and some days that are raining but i most say at night it does and can get cold (again not like u.k) and in actual fact of a night time if it is cloudy its a bit warmer than if the skies are open i know it sounds weird but true, also a fact kyrenia in the winter is a bit colder and has a bit more rain than famagusta (something to do with kyrenia being on the aegean sea side and famagusta being on the med sea side

hope this help

regards to you all and mark

I remember that from school UkTurk, When theres cloud cover, the clouds stop the radient heat from the earth (That has been warmed by the sun) rising up into the atmosphere as quickly, than if it's a clear night!

hi james

lol i know i did say it sounds weird, maybe to me it makes sense trying to justify the sudden rise and drop of cold weather at nights!!!

i thought i would be used to the cold by now living in the u.k, but i feal the cold more in cyprus and turkey even thou its no way colder than the u.k maybe its got to do with the fact the body gets used to have heat for at least 7 months of the year then when the weather changes you feel it more

dont know maybe im loosing it!!!!! l.o.l

regards to all

Hi Simbas

Try counting backwards from 100 to 1. You might need to do this a couple of times and then when you start again yoooouuuu wwwiillll faallllll aaassslleeeppp at about 95. As you count backwards just imagine your body , getting more relaxed, just letting go, sinking deeper and deeper and allowing the mattress just to take your full weight

Also almonds are really good. I take these if I can't sleep. They contain lots and lots of magnesium which relaxes the body and mind. It's better if you can soak them first to make them more digestible.

An alternative is to make sure you get lots of exercise. Tiring your body will make you fall asleep.

Another alternative is that you buy some hemi sync music to balance you right and left hemisphers of the brain - you can get some good ones which focus on sleep

Hi Simbas

So glad you slept better. Getting rem sleep makes you feel really good as you say. Almonds are a little wonder food. They do so many great things for the body
