| I know it's only October, but i am soooo looking forward to firing up my log fire and the turkish oven.....in fact, i am so cold tonight, i seriously wish i had some wood!! I know that closing the doors and windows and even putting on a jersey would help...but i can't quite admit that summer is over yet....i am even contemplating throwing some charcoal on the fire instead of putting more clothes on.... Is anyone else feeling it too...? DD |

| You should buy wood 1 year before you want to burn it - fresh wood is no good. So if you haven't got any now then you will struggle this winter. |

| My house is at at least a 100 years old....stays wonderfully cool in summer, but in winter just as cool....no strike that... boody effing freezing!! Hence why i have an enormous open fireplace in the bedroom and a turkish oven in the main house...both of which heats up my home wonderfully...however, as i said in my first message, i loathe to light either as it would be admitting summer is over..... BTW, i am not a moaner of any sorts, so please take your excuse to pick on someone, somewhere else....this was meant as light hearted banter concerning the oncoming winter....although i do offer my sympathies to you if you having trouble keeping your inexpensive, cheaply built villa warm during the (thankfully) few winter months!! | One of the things I have never really got used to in Cyprus is how fast the seasons change. One minute I am complaining about the heat, the next wondering where I put the duvet and thick sweaters. But surely winter has come early this year usually I swim until the end of October, but I have given up now. Daisy I am surprised at you! Surely you know the best way to keep your toes warm is a friendly dog on your feet |

| We'll be over in Alsancak in 2 weeks, can't wait to get to some cooler weather after summer in the Emirates. The weather in the TRNC now should be like the UK was in August! At least playing a round of golf will be more pleasant. |
