Imagine working for a company that only has a little more than 635 employees, but, has the following employee statistics.. 29 have been accused of spouse abuse; 7 have been arrested for fraud; 9 have been accused of writing bad cheques; 17 have directly or indirectly bankrupted at least 2 businesses; 3 have done time for assault; 71 cannot get a credit card due to bad credit; 14 have been arrested on drug-related charges; 8 have been arrested for shoplifting; 21 are currently defendants in lawsuits; 84 have been arrested for drink driving in the last year and collectively, this year alone, they have cost the British tax payer £92,993,748 in expenses!!! Which organisation is this? Yup..it's the 635 members of the House of Commons. What a bunch of crooks! And just to top all that they probably have the best 'corporate' pension scheme in the country, whilst trying to ensure that everyone else has the worst possible!

If you want to understand the real issues of politics in the UK then read this: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-surrey-15349615 I wonder how many meetings and the cost's involved it took to get this major financial problem sorted out. You really could not make it up. AJ

Groucho you seem to be well informed, for somebody who is ill informed can you please enlighten us ! It's a bit of a rash statment to poo poo and say it's rubbish (twice) what facts have you got to bolster your thoughts on all of this ? I agree with the thread poster that MP's do have a 'Gilt' Pension and one of the cheapest 'subsidised bars' in the whole of the UK that i've ever frequented in my life... I don't know what hair splitting regarding their 'Form' as mentioned is disputed ??

It's because the list of offences was first used to blacken the name of US politicians (quite some time ago) and was merely subsequently doctored to make similar claims about the House of Commons. They are not perfect I will admit... (I'd shoot the lot of them) but slavish copying of inaccurate nonsense doesn't make for interesting threads... really does it?
