Just to let people know.............

Hard cash collected so far is TL 1935 PLUS £50 via pay pal and Euro 25 and £15.00 collected from Haci Ali guests.

Pledges to come are TL 350.00 that i know of.

If you said you would pledge or would like to PLEASE PLEASE do.

It would be nice to get at least HALF of the TL 6000.00 needed for this little boys bone marrow operation.

I calculate at the moment, if all pledges are paid, we will have in the region of TL 2600.

So we still have a way to go to pay for this OP.

If you are able to give, no matter how small, please do, either via me or Lee.

Thank you.

A decent sum Malcolm, but as you say, not even half the cost of the operation required, What we need is someone with deep pockets to save the day ! This is such a worthy cause it deserves an extraordinary response ! Hopefully some kind benefactor will come on board !

Malcolm. Can you please confirm where/when I can pay the pledge in cash preferably in the Alsancak area (with a small bonus as your loose boots must be well "shot" now !).

Loose Boot's Good Morning and Good Morning to anyone else reading.

50 TL pledged from Linda weighed in yesterday, also 50 TL from Brian and Jan (deputydawg) last night at Haci Ali .

deputydawg says it's 30TL for Ismail and 20 TL for your new trainer laces. But then on 2nd thoughts you can manage with the old ones.

BTTT

Far too much negativity on this forum!

Let's support the positive folks instead - get your donations in to swell the fund for this deserving cause, and reward Malcolm's efforts made on behalf of Ismail.

Cheers,

Eddie

Hi Mal - have collected all the cash from the friends who sponsored you, it is just a matter of getting it to you. Is there somewhere I could leave it on our side of Girne? We have visitors staying this week so we will be out and about rather a lot. If you call me on 05338305375 maybe I could meet Anita in the Supreme or something.

Well done, for one person to raise that much money is fantastic.

Regards, Pam

But, I will mention no names , but have received a boost to our funds, and I have thanked the person privately, but we will definately be up to the TL 3000.00 point.

Thank you everyone.

To much wine Lee methinks ;-)

Thanks very much Eamonn. Appreciate any help in raising funds.

I notice from other threads the word NAIVE bandied about ...............not connected with this thread I hasten to add..........but I have been trying to get the story across to the Turkish and TC papers............

Not sure if the BRT programme had any effect.....

The local free Catalkoy paper, that is published in English and Turkish may be doing a piece and I and another person did contact TAK but if anyone else is able to spread the word..............every little helps.

Thank you to all that have contributed.

Can`t thank you all enough.

Malcolm,

A lot of effort , by you and many others , has gone into gathering this sum but the pity is, it is still just over half the cash required for the bone marrow operation ! I know more is coming in - in dribs and drabs but a huge gap remains ! Any ideas , from whichever source, on how to bridge this gap would be welcome !!

I think the LOCAL Catalkoy belediere bi monthly paper that is free and in Turkish and English is printing an article. Plus I have sent an e.mail to a Turkish advertising agency recommended by SPOR A.S the firm that ran the Istanbul marathon..

But didn`t really get a lot of feedback from Cyprus today articles..........even though we had the front page and the whole of the second page one week.

So I won`t hold my breath...............

In the future the wine bar in Catalkoy want to organise an evening for Ismail but that will take some organising.

If any one knows of a company or hotel etc that they feel they can approach for us......................

Trouble is there are a lot of WORTHWHILE charities trying to raise funds and although there are a lot of very generous people out there, people get charitied out.

But that doesn`t help Ismail...............
