Following on the back of the Mens Health Week, because of the large amount of enquiries we have had from ladies. At a greatly discounted price there are now the ladies cancer checks. l Available up to and including the 21st November 2011.



İncludes:

Chest X-Ray

Ultrasound

Mammography

Stool Sample

Urine Sample

Full Blood Count

ESR (electrocete sedimentation rate)

Smear test + Pathology

Gynecology Examination

Thats an excellent price, paid more than that earlier this year for mammogram, smear and gynae exam. Will you be able to do something like this again next year? Thanks Chris for all you do.

i have just telephoned the hospital and confirmed the price as I was starting to think I had made a mistake! But no it is correct. Normally smear plus pathology 105tl Mammogram 80tl so it is a great price.

I was asked on e-mail 'why do you do what you do?' The simple answer is early detection saves lives and I have just read on another post that Malcolm Cox has passed away aged 53years. It is too young he should have had at least another 30 years in front of him. RIP.

Just going out for a while so bringing this back to the top. There are very few ladies under the age of 50 attending these days so if you are in that age bracket please think about attending as it could save you a lot of grief later on.

I assume the cost is for the test(s) only. One would need to pay for the laboratory results. Are the lab tests done there or can one take them away to another lab?

That is the package cost and includes your test results. The only thing not included would be if they discovered something wrong and you had to have further tests.



All blood tests are done on the premises and results from the hospital laboratory. The only wait you will have will be the cervical smear result which normally takes 3-5 days.

Hi Deniz1,

The ESR and CRP level are raised in many inflammatory conditions. For example:

Certain infections (mainly bacterial infections)

Abscesses

Certain types of arthritis

Various other muscular and connective tissue disorders

Tissue injury and burns

Cancers

Crohn's disease

Heart attack



Some conditions lower the ESR. For example, heart failure, polycythaemia, sickle-cell anaemia, and cryoglobulinaemia.

Chris - if we had the tests in March this year, is it worth taking this package and omitting the smear and mammogram? also - as a matter of interest - why doesnt the womens package contain ecg and the mens does - just curious really

The point of this exercise is early detection of cancers, I would say that having the mammogram again maybe be too soon if you had it in March but the other tests no problem. The mens check up was a complete check so as well as checking for cancers, we were looking to detect heart problems etc.

By the way Tulips are arranging a similar thing. Same price, same hospital, but also two others. I think theirs is extended to 27th but I need to check on that.

so come on ladies - no excuse.

IO was talking to a man today who has just spent several months in U.K having prostate cancer dealt with. How did he find it? By one of the men's check ups. He had NO symptoms whatsoever.

I hope I can get one in, and I am sure that many of you are in the same financial boat as I am (actually the boat has shrunk tothe size of aq canoe) so this is something to be grabbed ! Don't hesitate - it could be too late!

I just found out today that here are other hospitals doing the same check up at the same price! There will be an announcement in this weekends newspapers!
