Since you dont give your location within the TRNC, and I assume you want something away from base

If you are based in the Girne area I would suggest Famagusta if you want sophistication and/or interesting history and architecture, Karpas if you are a nature lover, Güzelyurt for something a bit different and closer to the "real" Cyprus. Sorry I cant suggest hotels - too long since I have stayed.

If you are not in the Girne area - then it has to be ........Girne! My favourite hote is the Onar Village - but it is pricy! Good accommodation, wonderful views, excellent swimming pool in summer and blazing log fires in winter. But you dont give the age of your family and it might not be the best for children,

If you want to go South side I can recommend the Athena Beach hotel in Paphos.

Try the Balci Plaza just beyond Yeni Erenkoy in the Karpaz. Utter tranquility, excellent food, clean rooms and good company. Balciplaza.com I think.

Galifes Guesthouse in Büyükkonuk.... brilliant accom in the eco-village and a sensational home cooked breakfast.

Can't recommend it highly enough!
