How do you get rid of a heron as one has eaten nearly all my fish from the pond. I did try the plastic lookalike in the uk but useless. The police said too call them if he comes back as they said he maybe a heron addict

My brother had the same problem and after losing most of his stock he resorted to the childrens windmills you can buy. The ones on a stick that are shiny and blow round as you run with them. Apparently herons don't like them because they not only rotate but are shiny and rattle as well which puts them off - worth a try?! Now where you would get one if you are in TRNC I have no idea but it did the trick for my brother. Of course if he's an addict then the police might be the better option....

I formed a grid over my Koi pond out of fishing line, but it has to be very taught. I used to have one just sit there very still for hours awaiting an opportunity They are very persistant, and can clear a pond in seconds. wyn
