As a rule of thumb (not 100%, but this is mostly the case), if the internet is working in any one of the machines, it is usually NOT internet related. At least in multimax situation, it is very unlikely that the internet working on one machine and not the other, and it turns out to be ISP fault. The problem almost always lies with the individual computer that has the problem.

Than being said, you can help the provider identify the problem by checking for this things below (not a complete guide, but an idea on what you can do on your side)

1. If you are using an internal wireless router/access point, make sure the problem is not associated with your in-house wireless connectivity. One way of checking this is to 'tempoararily' connect the cable that comes from the roof top (without taking out the power connection that feeds the device), and connect the cable directly into your computer.

If you have a connection this way, means that you most probably have an issue with your internal netwok configuration.

If you do not have a connection this way, notice if the computer is giving any sort of indication when you plug the cable into the computer, in many cases, we have noticed loose power adaptors or connections failing to provide power to the customer antenna that is causing the problem. Making sure all the connections are secure is the key.

2. If you do have a 'connection' (meaning the computer responds by recognizing the cable is plugged in) but no internet then the problem can be more serious that just an 'internal' problem.

in this case, first thing you should make sure is whether your account with your provider is active, it may as well be that your account is cut off for non-payment.

*If you have a multimax connection, and you have easy access to your device, all our devices are configured with a signal meter at the back of the device (cont)

with one light meaning no signal to 5 lights meaning perfect reception (you need like minimum 2 preferably 3 lights on for reasonable link quality).

if there are no lights at all, then this means your device is not getting any power, you need to go back and check power connections.

if there is only one light, means no link is established between you and the base station, this can be cause by a problem on your device (most basic explanation is that your antenna moved from wind or something to more serious problem) or on the basestation side (some sort of malfunction)

3. The antennas we and most other providers use are not really just basic passive devices but with electronic equipment inside with softwares. It is possible that this software crashes or hangs from time to time. A simple 'power cycle' might fix the problem.

If all this fails, contact your ISP with as much details about your problem is possible and what you have tried so far.

Hope this helps.
