Hi rsalih,

Are you sure it is 16 - 20ytl? I was quoted £20 per running meter last year for the grey mountain stone and that was only single most walls are double faced.

The prices qutoed per metre is usually for each face of the wall.

i.e If building a wall of 10 metres. One has to calculate 10 metres for each side and 10 metres for the top as this is the way builders actually work it out.

So a 10 metre wall works out as 30 metres.

If you multiple this with the per metre labour cost then you get a more accurate amount of how much it will cost.

Ref messages 1 & 2.

Are these for internal garden walls i.e. boundary walls already in place? or are they actually for boundary walls?

I guess it was a silly question now I have read the title of the thread, but why is your builder not doing this for you?

We had a small stretch of wall replaced after it was knocked down.

The charge, if I remember right, was ytl 20 per metre per side, so ytl 40 per metre in all.

You are correct it is actually for two internal walls to connect the front boundry wall and the back retaining wall.

The builder put in the boundry wall but do not want to use him for any

further work as not a good standard.
