In the past two weeks, it has been announced that Local Authorities over England & Wales have issued 36% MORE care applications than in previous years. They are clearly erring on the side of caution now, as indeed they should have done previously, and I hope they will continue to do in the future.

i do hope so kay that is so sad, i read that the police are going to give the mother a new identity what else can she get, also harringay social workers will keep thier jobs, what is the country coming to, she had free housing benefits etc now a new identity on tax payes money. lock her up in the worst womans prision and let them get her, that poor baby may he rest in peace xx

Its just been announced that Sharon Shoesmith has been sacked with immediate effect, no compensation/wages in lieu will be paid.
