Hi Deb,

I've just been speaking to a man who says that if you drive over the mountain

Catalkoy way as if you're going to Ercan, there is a garage by an ice cream shop, just before the roundabout where you'd turn left to Ercan.

He says it's run by a Turkish Cypriot man, and a man from Birmingham.

Sounds like it may be worth a trip over,

good luck

Really depends on what the "service" consisted off. I would agree that a simple oil change would be a bit expensive at that price but if the oil/air filters were cleaned/changed, plugs cleaned/changed and all wheels off brake inspection +++ whatever then it would be a good deal.

And it does depend on what model of car you have. Some of the newer cars, well takes a bloody long time to even get at the motor!

Good luck with whoever you use anyway.

wat a good deal 220 pounds for a service it was normal oil change and check filters none changed brakes were done 2 months before and he tried to tell us they were faulty citroen c3 not a range rover problem wi the london turk garages is they still think they can charge london prices and bein from london dont make them good mechanics and the fact they can speak english only means they can give you a load more waffle cheaper to buy a donkey than service a car here

Well all I can add is keep your business local. Develop relationships with as many of the citizens/suppliers of goods and services of your village or area and that way you may not feel as though you are getting stitched. After all, they, he, she, them would like your return business.

Sorry to hear that you got a bad deal. It is a big learning curve sometimes.

It is not all bad.

Green Garage has a decent mechanic who doesn't overcharge.

I have used Ziggy 4 times and I have nothing but praise for the guy. My car failed its first MOT (exhaust pipe too long and car too dirty!) Took it to Ziggy and he put it up on the ramp and took an angle grinder to the exhaust then after that he washed and waxed the car. I asked him how much? he said 'nuffink'. So I am happy to recommend him. I have seen other situtations with other customers that confirm my support for Ziggy. So I will carry on recommending him.

Nostradamus,

Is that the garage at Green Petrol in Alsancak?

The Mechanic they used to have there left - he said it was because they only wanted to service their own rental cars, and there wasn't enough money in it.

Are you saying that they are servicing 'all comers' cars again?

Keith.
