Very very unlikely to be oil in or around cyprus even offshore.

Sounds like a wind up to me.

Yep there is oil and gas in the Med as there is in most oceans and seas around the world but this has all been done before in the Med hence why there are no major O&G companies interested. They are marginal fields and the investment and cost of pulling the product out of the sea bed basically means it is a dead dodo. Companies are paid to carry out seismic assessments which is what is happening at the moment. And as far I know there has been no exploratory drilling carried out so far and It is only after these assessments and exploratory drilling that O&G companies will then decide whether to buy licenses.

Watch this space.

Whether the ROC recognise the TRNC or not they are asking for trouble if they think they can take on the Turkish navy in Turkish Cypriot waters.

Message 7 - well, if it's in the Famagusta Gazette, it must be true!!

AJ - Oil, gas, etc. I feel is an untapped source in East Anglia. Any takers? If nothing found, at least we'll get our vegetable patch turned over!

suzanne

Already checked it out, so what do you think is happening? Interesting to hear your take on the technical aspects of oil and gas prospecting.

Now there's a thought. Here's my cunning plan. The UK declares war on America. We give it about oh, 5 minutes to sink in, then immediately surrender (don't want any trigger happy generals getting carried away now do we).

And Voila! Loads of US dollars in aid comes flooding in. I remember an old Ealing Film years ago 'The Mouse that roared' I think it was called. Worked a treat for them.

If I ever get back to the UK I might want to buy rights to the oil and gas under your allotment/garden but there again I gave up spade work years ago

Take care and hope you are both well.

Europe actually extends as far as Israel. (But not North Cyprus)

They have always been in Eurovision have they not?

The boundaries change depending on the interests of people
