very sad and awful to experience spider. unfortunately it is the same offender over agian at the reservoire and the area between the main road and Kayalar. he has been reported many times to the police and they are aware of him but nothing is done.

you can get the anti dote from the vet in a needle and carry it with you in case of poison ,if the animal froths from the mouth and yellowness from the backside its lanate (not sure about the spelling)

we lost our cat this way.

sorry to hear about the dog

makes my stomach churn.................such a cowardly thing to do, i know i shouldnt say it, but i will, i do hope a child/person or livestock get poisoned, i feel this is the only way action will be taken. Nothing will happen until human life or money is involed ;(

Whilst the antidote is good - you still need a vet as soon possible, it can at least give you a few more precious minutes to find the nearest one.

All I ever do now is pound the streets with my dog - no fields or beaches it's just too risky.

How horrific, poor innocent little animals, everyday i walk my 3 dogs in the woods near my home in england and i thank God i do not have to be aware of any danger like that to them, it would destroy me if i had to witness one of my gorgeous dogs dying in this way. My heart goes out to you all.

Moxie, msg 6,

You really need to curb your emotions, to wish for the death of a human being in order to solve a nasty deed, is unacceptable, completely so !!

Moxie msg 6 - what a stupid, idiotic thing to say. Who's child do you think should be sacrificed then so action is taken?

Yes this is a terrible thing, but to "hope" a child or person is poisoned to highlight the problem is almost as sick as the putting the bloody poison down yourself!

What were you thinking when you wrote that... beggars belief!

Msg. 9 and 10. There is no-one more caring than Moxie is, she just worded her reply rather more strongly than she ought. However, poisoning of a child or adult is something that sooner or later is going to happen, of that there can be no mistake. Some of these poisons are so fast acting and you don't actually have to ingest them. Picking them up with bare hands would be sufficient, particularly if you have a cut.

Thanks Tango ,i did say i shouldnt say it but i will, and its what we all think , im just one who has the courage to write it. so there you have it!! it will happen sooner or later ? its an OPEN FORUM , a place of free speech so like it or lump it !!!

It may happen sooner or later, but you shouldn't 'hope' that it does... if anything you should be 'praying' that it doesn't.

I have a small child and I live very close to some of the recent area's that there have been poisonings - I would be absolutely devastated if anything happened to him.

And yes I have seen a poisoning and I also have rescue dogs and cats of my own - and as much as it would be terrible if anything happened to them it would be a million times worse if it happened to my child! I would lose all my animals 10 times over before I would lose my own child.

Maybe you have children of your own, maybe you don't, but you should think before you speak and consider how you are going to make other people feel with your comments.

We all want the poisonings to stop but to 'hope' that a child loses their life to make it stop is just sick.

Msg 13,

Couldn't agree more with your comments G. I feel the same way too. I think it takes a very "sick " kind of person to wish serious harm on a child ! Shame on Moxie for her outrageous comments ! Whether she gives a flying fig about others opinions is not important but the wellbeing of humans is more important than the wellbeing of animals or don't you agree. Moxie ? Much as I deplore the poisoning of pets, its not quite the same thing as the poisoning of humans !!

Why don't you just answer the question, Moxie ? Do you really want a child to be poisoned just to make your point ? Stop being evasive and face up to your comments, justify them or withdraw them !! Your "feelings " are not really relevant but your written opinions, are ! Once again, is the health/ wellbeing of humans more important than that of animals ? It's a simple question, really. No more Blah Blah Blah......

Don't usually get involved in these dog poisoning thingies but am drawn into this.

Personally, the less loose dogs there are, the better we may be.

But Moxie, get real, if you'd like a free meal, and who wouldn't, there's one or two here that would love to feed you.

ps if you have no partner, can you invite racoonchick, I'll pay

this is a horrible thing that unfortunately has not yet been stopped but what makes it worse is that there are people out there hoping for children to die to solve a problem. would you take the poison yourself to prove this point? Didn`t think you would so why should someone else pay the price of their loved one for you to be satisfied. my dog was shot dead which was horrible but i do not wish harm on anyone i just wish the person responsible would be punished.

I was hoping you would re-phrase it Moxie, because up to this juncture I was on your page, but when I read you would see a human pass if it would solve the feral animal problem (of course, we both know, it wouldn't make an iota of difference) I did think - crikey - over egging the pudding now...

Listen you lot, Moxie is clearly a passionate woman when it comes to animals, she can do no wrong in my eyes, you have all leapt on her from a great height, all you self righteous posters who are sooooo perfect, most of you accept the cruelty to dogs in TRNC, you actually turn a blind eye, if you saw a dog poisoned in the UK you would all call the RSPCA but you accept it here, why is that?

Marks - most people have a great passion about something - it is what makes the world go round - that said, the vast tranche of us, are parents - though one doesn't have to be a parent to understand the horror and revulsion one feels at reading "...i do hope a child/person or livestock get poisoned, i feel this is the only way action will be taken..." most especially when the poster is clearly not an idiot, so couldn't believe for one nanosecond that someone dying would make a jot of difference to the situation under discussion. My daughter's pup died a horrendous death by poisoning in Girne - broke her heart and we doubt any of us will ever get another dog because of it. Not once would we wish bereavement upon another soul - ludicrous that anyone could even think in those terms. All energies one has available should be directed into culling feral animals and bringing to book, those that sling their animals out with no care for their future. Oh, and Kar revising neuter/return policy

Are Marks and Moxie the same ? Read their posts --- all lovey dovey !! suspicious or what ? and Marks is just a recent (welcome) addition ? Maybe it's just 2 ignorant people together ??? Who really cares ? All they seem to care about are animals, humans come a poor second, in their eyes ! All humans are worthy of sacrifice, according to them ! Fascist or what ? Of course, I may be wrong but let them clarify their comments. It's not for me to do so. !

The ex pat dog weirdos on the warpath again.

Moxies views are typical.

No one wants to see innocent animals poisoned but dog owners in TRNC have a lot to answer for.

Several of my holidays have been spoilt by constant dog barking - last two in Karaman and before that in Bellapais.

It's little wonder that someone - with the same attitude as Moxie( but in reverse) - has probably had enough!!

I have posted along these lines before; I will do it again (for all the good it does). A while ago, someone posted (OK, many have posted) that they had to leave in a hurry and were trying to re-home their animals. Now, the general outcry among those on here who seem to continuously confuse animals with humans, was along the lines of "would you leave your children behind". I pointed out that of course I would not leave my children behind, but, there again, I would not feed my children from a bowel on the floor, expect them to live outside in the warm weather and have them walking beside me on a lead when they took exercise. I perhaps should add that I am an animal lover BUT I DO NOT CONFUSE ANIMALS WITH HUMANS. It drives me mad on here with the bloody "I love dogs more than people" brigade. As I said, I am very fond of animals and to be quite honest, I could not live in TRNC permanently with the cruelty shown to them, but I would never confuse the two different spec

You two really are a double act ! You still have not defended or justified your position and your comments on this page are pathetic ! Judging by the comments of others here, you have lost the argument anyway ! Tough ! And if you're that clever, you would have thought, seriously, about what you said before you said it ! Please, no more blah, blah, blah....
