Never mind weeping that won't help. Get off your backsides and support the buyers/victims. The writing is on the wall for all, these thieves will take all they can from expats whilst their relatives in the goverment watch and wait for their own backhander. Stand up or give up simple choice.

Absolutley DeaconB. Have been lobbying in Lefkosa this morning although the demonstrations and the police presence with riot shields and batons was somewhat scary. We must try to help.

To stop the Auctions would be the ideal.

Action against eviction woulud be unnecessary if the auctions couuld be stopped.

In fact any expat who live in the area and are on the island and do not atttend the auction should hang their heads in shame.

How I feel for these people am I the only one who feels disgusted and angry?

A Major Strike, schools, hospitals, banks and public offices. The one day general strike was sparked by a raft of contraversial govt policies including changes in social security and an amnesty for illegal workers (as opposed to legal workers who pretend to work - sorry couldn't resist it). The usual Trade Unions too, I think.

Tried to avoid it as much as possible, but the presence was very noticeable and a lot of roads closed off.

I dont know Lefkosa well so trying to find an alternative way to where I need to go was a nightmare.

Well if the auction goes ahead, and let us all pray it does not, I will be there and I know the Tutuska people will, could be their turn AGAIN next. Is there no end to the callous behaviour of this legal system and this govt. who allows it?

We can but hope philbailey. Surely even they can see the negative publicity is affecting their villa values.

We will be there supporting all victims but especially the Aga / Robb victims. I know the ladies of abag would be here for us if they lived in theTRNC. It is so devastating for everyone concerned.

No philbailey sadly the "Rose Tinted Brigade" won't join until it affects them! like the "Blue Rinse Brigade" (I was once called that by Gary John Robb)! many moons ago, my hair is grey I have no need for a "Blue Rinse"

The start time is given as 10.00 a.m. but best to be there a little ahead of that time. Bring your cameras because I may have to rely on some of you for photos. At the Tutuska auction I accidentally took a photo of a ss policeman and had to hide my camera in someone's pocket, now I dont mind being chased by a young man but not for that reason, at my age I dont run so so fast.

I support your cause and really hope tht this auction can be stopped, sadly I don't think the government give a flying fig about those who have lost all their money, corruption breeds more corruption and the government is totally corrupt.

Tonight Stop the Blackmail committee have been lobbying a senior government representative in our effort to stop this Auction. We will continue the fight because now we know doing nothing leads to eviction. IN the case of K5, no-one believed it possible to get that far, subsequent events proved our belief to be totally incorrect.

philbailey - who knows, but still we try. We gave the details over and used the opportunity to discuss

property related problems of other memebers of our group too. We were given a promise he would look into it and I personally expressed my opnion that I thought Robb was behind this in some way. With the Aga Saga things are not always as they seem.

Polly

what I find sad is that the "owners" are number 20 on the list of creditors. This is what happens when people never get deeds and then fail to keep checking that they have not had memorandums applied. Am I correct in saying that it will be a first come, first served basis?

I hear that there was a recent auction of houses in Bellapais which was carried out with very little publicity, some of the owners not even aware until after the event. Do you know anything about this and what has happened to the residents concerned?

philbailey, sometimes you do come over as a little naive, bless. When would being in prison limit someone like him?

bradus, we know nothing of this auction, a well kept secret. If there had been owners resident I would have thought there would have been some publicity, can only assume the owners have yet to discover their loss.

Anywhere else in the civilised world it could not happen without the owners knowledge, here anything goes, as long it is into the pockets of the banks/builders/landowners or creditors. You couldn't make it up.

pollymarples, message 32. I do not think for a minute that philbailey is in the least naive. I have no objections to any of his posts in the least, but I do think "our phil" makes the balls for others to fire; I think he's actually very clever, and, in this case, if anyone is being naive, it's you, for thinking it's him (if you know what I mean).

Jeannie, said very much tongue in cheek, my way of saying nicely I knew what he was up to and responded accordingly. I am very fond of phil and his one liners meant to draw out the debate. xxxx to phil

niceone, do you have more info on the 13th November auction. You are right to bring it in to the debate, For instance does Kocan 2442 and 2443 apply to doemstic properties. IN the line underneath it refers to a Supermarket with a toplam satis Bedeli: of 2317000 TL - niceone, anyone - any information will be appreciated.

As admin on Stop the Blackmail we have a member directly affected by the Roob Auction on the 27th so the committe have been concentrating on that auction. It does not mean we do not want to help victims of the Fatisa auction if they are threatened with losing their homes.

TRNCvictim You know unless it directly effects some people it willl be on no interest to them/ Thank goodness there are still many who have on obvious problems but still care and support those wth problems

I just thank those people and hope they will turn out to support the victims at the auction on the 27th

Too easy to say why should I help them/ they do not help themselves/ why not say I am washing my hair or mowing the lawn cos in my book one excuse is as good as another/
