last time you had to stay at one place from 8am to 6pm unless it was to go to hospital or something. Didn't have to be your own property, just so long as you stayed at the same place.

If the property is registered for tax in your name you have to remain at this address until after the Cencus.

There is no freedom of movement until after 18.00 hrs, the police set up check points.

if you are not in the country, you dont get counted, and you are not reponsible for anything.



It may also happen that from 8am to 6pm you sit in the house and nobody shows up (happened to me once), in this case you need to go and present yourself within the next few days.

What happens ? The TRNC is swept by a bug called a "census" which causes the majority to be laid low. This can only be cured by politicians who use "massage treatment" until there is reflected numbers which best please them and a pandemic of calls for an independent count are avoided.

I have "heard" that hunting will be brought forward to Saturday :}



The main Idea of the census is that we all have to stay where we are and be counted. Even tourists are not allowed to leave their hotels.
