I paid £74 for the meter to be connected and £40.00 for a plumber to connect from meter to tank, including a stand pipe to run water off before reaching the tank if the water has been standing for a while.

| A near neighbour in Karsiyaka moved into a rental property which did not have a meter (all the connections were there) and when he asked Lapta belidye for a price on a meter connection he was quoted something in the region of 1400tl. Needless to say he gets his water delivered by tanker!
There was more to it also but I am a bit hazy on the details--something about getting the builder to provide something or other. |

| Lapta Belediyesi asked me for £500 for a water supply although all the pipework is in place. We also refused and now a very kind neighbour fills our tanks fortnightly from his well. Lovely Cypriot family, absolutely would not take any money for this - easy to get around though because they love home-made pizza, now I make 2 every 2 weeks. |

| Well, our Cypriot neighbours who fill our tanks from their well told us not to pay it as the water delivery in this little area is only 20 minutes a week. Not even sure that would fill our tank! So glad we did not pay the £500 |
