Thanks for that bit of info .. Yes 'num lock' is on .. Switched it off ..



Closed down cyprus44 .. Re-opened put 'num lock' back on & all is fine ..



Need 'num lock' on to put sign on as mine is a spanish keyboard & use "alt keys" ..

Yes, I now have a German keyboard, hence no pound sign!

In Windows 7, Control panel, under 'Clock Language & Regions' there is 'change keyboards or other input methods.' You can alter keyboard layout to whatever language you want i.e have sign etc. Just need to figure out where.

put 'num lock' on ..

Hold down the "alt key" type 156 with the numbers to the right ..

Not the numbers across the top ..

it works on mine ..
