| A report out today has called for a Ban on calling old patients in Hospital, Love.
Calling older patients "dearie" or "love" is set to be ruled out as offensive by new guidelines from the Nursing and Midwifery Council. The report went on to say that Nurses should speak "courteously and respectfully" and use patients' preferred names.
Aren't these terms of endearment? What's wrong with calling people "dearie" or "Love"? |

If I was in Hospital and asked for my preferred name,....
I would choose 'Big Boy' or 'Stud'.
