Lpg is not available in North Cyprus for cars, unlike turkey were 80% of cars run on lpg. He would be advised to bring cooking gas from from were he is coming from as the suppliers are unable to fill bottles from out side the TRNC. I had this problem last year.

Not quite right they can fill camping gas bottles at Jet Gaz Lefkosa. Also it is easy to decant if you have the right fittings .

Sorry. hippo took a Turkish tup gas which has a smaller connector to Coop, Jet and intergas no chance, they don't have the conversion fittings. Had to buy a local bottle with connector. But I am sure about camping gas I don't know the fittings

Most caravans and boats that go to the continent use camping gaz (the blue bottle) these definitely are refillable at Jet Gaz Lefkosa. As regards Tupgaz no idea but I wouldn't have thought your friend would buy a new one in Turkey. We have a couple of the smaller Turkish bottles and they are refillable here I am not sure of the make. As regards decanting it is very easy you just need two adapters and a piece of gas tubing. Hang the donor higher and the receptor lower and the gaz will flow from high to low. Make sure you are not smoking and do in the open air. Incidently cooking gaz is considerably cheaper here than in Turkey (as of today of course) Lots of yachts do this when cruising in countries that do not sell the bottles they have aboard.

HI Hippo I though caravans used the large bottles, I don't know about yachts. But I thought her friend was coming from Turkey as there was no mention of a country, thats why I posted about the large bottles, I stayed in a friends caravan in Turkey a couple of years ago and it had local gas bottles.

Plus Kantara mentions LPG for a car, again this seems like Turkey.

I don't know if the pump is in use but at Atakara Filling Station (about 150 metres from Golden Lady) there is an LPG pump on the forecourt. I noticed it a couple of weeks ago but have not ever seen it in use but then don't suppose there are many gas propelled vehicles in TRNC
