Whilst walking up the road towards the Chateau Lambousa this evening at approximately 1845 hrs I was strruck by a vehicle and knocked down. The vehicle did not stop and was seen entering the hotel car park. Fortunately although stunned I and the rest of my party were able to go into the car park and see if we could recognise the vehicle which was a dark coloured pick up, alas to no avail. Therefore I would like to thank the perzson who hit me for gettinbg my night off with a bang.

I would also like to thank the DJ who was on stage and I requested that he put out an announcement requesating the owner of a large dark coloured vehicle who had left the lights on to return to the vehicle.

To the driver of the vehicle thanks for ruining the night for my friends, my wife and I, and if you want some cooperation from anyone don't go to the DJ.

Many thanks

I was in the car park of a large supermarket yesterday when a man, who was parked on a corner in the supermarket reversed and despite my shouts, hit a lady. She just jumped, he smiled and she walked off. Maybe its the norm....god forbid!

Hope you are feeling a bit better this morning and not too sore. Why didn't you phone the police and get them to deal with this, the guys at Lapta Polis station are really helpful and I am sure they would have taken this seriously, as they should.

My goodness Ged, what an awful experience for you - hope you are ok now. Nurseawful is right, you should have called the police, afterall, you had witnesses and it seems as though the driver of the car was still at the party. These idiots get away with this sort of thing far to often, you were not badly hurt thank god, but his next victim might not be quite so lucky! Anyway, glad to hear that you are ok, give my love to Kathy.

Put this number in your mobile and don't hesitate in calling it if you have any serious problems in the Lapta/Alsancak area.

Although there were witnesses to the incident, and there was a police presence at Lambousa, we only had a minimal description of the car but could not find it in the car park, I was hoping that the DJ might give us assistance with an announcement but to no avail and thought it would be wasting police time looking for a vehicle without a complete description/details on the number plate.

Note: A bit sore this morning.

Thanks for that info AlsancakJack, I can see why I now get calls for Lapta police station. Just one digit is different. never knew that, as I have only the first nubeer in my phone. And yes, you should report if if only to make the driver aware that he needs to be a little more careful. could have been fatal, and so maybe he should learn to just think a little before manoeuvring. Glad to hear you are o.K. Must have been scary to say the least.

Ged,

Hope you feel less pain soon. What a shock for you and your friends to witness. This is terrible you could have been killed ! was the road not wide enough for him.Like you say he went into the function without so much as a thought ! Someone, maybe a member on here or a members friend know who attended and drives a big DARK TRUCK ..Lets hope he gets to hear about this and hangs his head in shame.

We saw the pain you were in last night !

AJ thanks for the number,do they speak good enough English if we need to call.Handy number to keep.

Spider, maybe learning a little Turkish for emergencies might help you in the future.

Did you think to ask the DJ what kind of vehicle HE was driving????

Maybe his reluctance to assist had an element of self interest???

I love conspiracy theories.

So glad that you are Ok following this incident and that you didn't need a defib as there would have been far to many questions to answer before using it. (sorry, couldn't resist)

Many thanks everyone for your advice and good wishes. Ged is suffering today with a sore back and hip however it could have been so much worse ( it could have been me only kidding) The trouble with reporting the incident is that although 4 of us plus 2 behind saw it happen never took the vehicle number nor did we recognise the make so really the police would have very little to go on.

The fact remains all ages of people attended last night had it hit a child or frail adult the end result ----I don't want to think about.
