| Italys debt is 1.6 trillion.
They are now paying 6.7% interest on much of this debt. |

| italy isnt a basket case like greece as they have a large income from tax from a large population , that they have huge debts and borowing costs rising doesnt mean they are not facing huge problems but they are no way in the brown stuff as greece is . |

I think part of the problem is Italys growth rate. It has only averaged 0.30% over the last 30 years. Its not good enough to get it out of the mess, not on its own anyway. I think??????
Isn't it a problem that the North has to carry the south? Whilst the North is prosperous the South is less so? |

| Who lets them get into this state? The man in the street gets a bailiff round if he doesnt pay his debts and ends up in court or worse. Countries owe billions and then get given more. Crazy. |
