Anyone that has an underground water storage depot for their villa should make sure that it has a good seal around the lid, as these slugs seem to find their way in and fall into the water, as just taken over a dozen out of mine and may even drain the water out.

Ugh I hate the things too Barbrew and never understand why we get them in dry weather. Least sick making quick fix is to sprinke them with salt,

..................

Oh, blimey what am I saying - NO nO NO not to eat - it will disolve them.

Slugs, especially the Cypriot ones, are delightful creatures - such quaint characters!

On Summer evenings, whilst sitting on the patio, having a coupla three beers, we got a visit from either one or two 6" long slugs. They would make a 'bee-line' for the cat biscuit dish, crawl up it and scoff a biscuit.

One night, as one slid across the tiles, I poured a few drops of Efes in front of it, together with a cat biscuit [granular type] as a 'nibble'. The slug was delighted! It slurped up all the grog and then gobbled up the whole biscuit!

This became a bit bit of a ritual - the slug always came at the same time and often brought his missus!

Usually, when they'd drunk their drop of beer - sometimes wine - they'd put on a bit of an act, chasing their own tails - p1ssed as, well, as a......slug!

So, 'Babrew'/Msg1 - try and show some consideration for your slimey visitors - put out a capful of beer and a coupla three bikkies for them, and try to get over your 'slug-o-phobia'!

Slug phobia for 30 years or more dont think it will be that easy to get over them.

Tarry67:

Now I did wonder if its to do with my underground sewerage tank which has never been emptied in 7 years as Ive no idea where it is located. It does give a pong now and again. The builders must of covered it up with bricks etc. Its not on any architectual plans and the Belladiye say they dont have any plans of sewerage tanks either, unless they are located on the road.
