I believe you should be able to get them at any computer shop and other retail outlets. I recently bought half a dozen or so at the computer shop on the coastal road through Alsancak. I cannot remember how much I paid but they were definitely one of the few things nowadays which remain as cheap as chips. Perhaps it was 2 or 3 TL for half a dozen.

@ DaisyDukes: If your files are important enough to archive them on CD: don't buy cheap. Cheap CD's are cheap for a reason. It has to do with the quality of the layer the manufacturer put on the plastic disc.

Many cheap CD's cannot be read again after a year or so - they get damaged at the edges. Especially so if they enjoy some Cyprus sun.

Buy well known brands like Sony, TDK, Philips etc. You will never be sorry for buying a quality brand CD.

P.S. Not all CD burners/readers in computers like all CD brands - don't buy too many of a certain brand. Find out which one (and whether they are + or -) suits your CD burner/reader best.

@ msg 8, mikelapta: Mike, I wasn't referring to your CD's! It was a common remark, nothing more!

I used more CD's than I can remember and I learned the lesson - if the files on the CD are important: don't take any risks (and at least always make a back-up CD). A bargain (CD) is often a pickpurse.
