Yes, very, very sad. A pugnacious fighter who has perhaps paid the price for being as brave as a lion. If I remember rightly, after one of his epic bouts with Ali, he was hospitalised with liver/kidney damage. As much as I enjoyed watching these 2 great boxers who sacrificed their long term health, I have never been able to take issue with those who find the sport barbaric. He deserves to make God's "hall of fame" if one exists.

Angus, why add acrimony to a post which intended to pay homage to a brave man ? The spelling was not an issue in identifying "Frazier". We all make spelling mistakes as you have done above. Surely better to add your own heartfelt warmth towards Joe Frazier or ignore the post entirely ?

Sorry but if you want to pay homage to a great man at least get his name spelt right, a little bit of care and attenion to detail over a dead mans name, is that not what he deserves. Have our standards dropped so far that we have to accept this. Yes we all make spelling mistakes but the spelling and even pronounciation makes it so easy to spell. This post has taken away the dead mans dignity!!
