Many newly arrived expats may not have seen the most beautiful places in Northern Cyprus yet. Here's a free map to find them - follow the route I've put on the map (shortcuts possible) and you won't be sorry!

@ msg 2, Woodspeckie: Yes, all roads on the projected route are good or fairly good. Although it's best or most beautiful to do it in spring when you'll find some incredible lovely fields with all kinds of flowers. Enjoy!

Addition: where you read "Pegasos Bar/Restaurant" on the map please read "Morelli's Bar/Restaurant" (near Lemar Supermarket, Karaoğlanoğlu).

To all above. Please, request the password via email to mcf.trnc@gmail.com . Reason: my work is (free) available for most members of C44 - but not all of them.

Wednesday, November 9, 10.45 am.

▶ I've just sent 51 emails to people who requested the password via email to mcf.trnc@gmail.com (msg 1).

Download the locked, zipped file (the map) here:

http://www.allcrusades.com/CD/bb_webpages_03/18_charity_1/tekst.html

The file (guaranteed virus-free) will download to your hard drive

Double click the file

You will be asked for the password: xxxxxxx-x (case sensitive)

The file will unlock as "Charity_Route_2009.jpg"

Double click the file - it will open in a programme (software) on your Macintosh or PC.

You can print the map on A4 or A3 format paper.

If you experience any problem with the file, mail or Skype me and I'll help you.

Kind regards and enjoy your day out!

Thursday, November 10, 8.30 am: ▶ All requests (from yesterday and last night) for the Password to unlock the file (see msg 1) have been sent.

Don't forget: you can easily break away from the route (set up in 2009) if you think about 100 miles is too long.

I hope you enjoy the route!

P.S. I think there's enough interest to also make the Route 2010 (including an interesting route book!) available - watch this space..!

Sorry, I close this thread (requests for the Password) tonight at 10 pm - the requested passwords will be sent tomorrow morning via email in bulk.

I'll upload another map with a Great Route (2010) tomorrow morning (in a new thread).

Enjoy the beauty of Northern Cyprus!

Hans,I have to agree with you,the route to the Karpas is stunning. From holidays to living here,it is an annual pilgrimage.Stopping before Kaplica, the first coffee stop, at the wooden cafe that is built out to sea, after visiting the disused Greek church, and seeing the remains of a Roman harbour,I have seen orchids growing wild in the hedgerows, purple gladioli in corn fields, feathered birds of every colour.

Then an evening of a good fish meal, and sleeping in wooden chalets on the beaches of golden sand.

I always take my visitors on this route.

I just cannot understand the seemingly desperate need for a map ! We love nothing more than to just find a road and just drive...see where the unknown takes us,explore get LOST..Learn and see new things..

Vic and I love to seek the unknown.Doing our own cross country safari dirt tracks etc We can go out all day get lost,go round and round, back to where we started then find another unexplored track Often even in the dark of night returning home another way unknown.

PS..Be adventure's....Get lost thats where the fun is

Friday, November 11 2011, 8.30 am: I've replied again to all emails requesting the Password (see msg 1).

I'd like to thank several emailers for their kind words!

If you think you haven't received the Password in an email - please check your spam or junk Inbox before requesting the Password again.

If you have any problem unlocking the file (the ipped map): let me know here and I'll guide you to a solution.

Enjoy the route - the organisers of the yearly Charity Route have set up this Great Route (2009) with numerous often hidden beautiful spots, views, buildings etc!

The next Great Route (2010, the file including the full Route book!) will be published here today or tomorrow.
