Dear all,

We are heading down for a well earned month long break over Xmas and New Year.

I mentioned before from our last visit in August. We stayed at the Lapida Hotel in Lapta for two weeks as our Apartment was not quite ready, and we absolutely loved the hospitality and friendship we received from Fethi and his mum Mary.

The Hotel can best be described as a small boutique Hotel, but wow..what service.

We arrived as guests, but left as friends (lifelong) I just spoke to Fethi on the phone, as I promised to get him a Guitar Tuner when I returned.. Oops I digress !!!

Anyhow Fethi was saying that the Hotel is very quiet.....not many guests, but he is doing not to bad on evening meals and drinks etc.

The point I,m trying to make is: This guy is trying to make his dream come true......and it will if he gets customers. Please support him when you pass, pop in for a bite to eat or a drink, even a coke, your sure of a warm welcome.

Nice people, Nice Hotel, Nice Friends !

Rogerdodger,

It,s a bit of a Hike from Esentepe, but you could make it part of a Grand Day out. Drive west towards Guzelyurt...when you are driving, stop at Iceland and pick up some nice Wines, the 1st sign to Lapta is where the road splits and the Lady Statue is situated . Drive past way past until you come to a second sign on the left that says Lapta, turn left and turn back on yourself (if you can understand that) drive about 1/2KM and it is sign posted to the Lapida Hotel....many nice places West of Girne, worth taking a drive out, and of course please say hello to Fethi and Mary for us

Hi Wearytravellers,

Hope you enjoy the break over Christmas. I live in Lapta but was confused from your directions. Road where it splits and lady statue isn't that to Alsancak??

What sort of food do they do for evening meals? Being vegeterian wondered if there was any choice for me.

Thanks

I stayed at the Lapedida hotel in September, and have to agree with what the Wearytravellers have said, a great hotel and marvellous hosts Fethi and his wife who cannot do enough to make your stay enjoyable

My wife is also Vegetarian, and had no problem getting sorted out. After having re read my post with directions, I am a little confused also. We ate one night under a Lemon Tree by the Pool, Fethi lit candles and organised some lighting in the trees. Sandi had the most delicious Halloumi and feta salad that I had ever tried, I had a mixed Shish Kebab, this was washed down with copious Gin and Tonics......and needless to say we had a bottle of South African Wine that we brought from Singapore. Fethi chilled it for us all day and no charge for corkage or anything.

Do us and yourself a favour, pop in and try this place out. Fethi and Mary are two of the nicest people you will ever meet, nothing is ever a problem to them and they try so very hard to please their guests.

Good luck
