Info needed please,

a/can you buy propane gas cylinders in TRNC for BBQ's and from where ?

b/ can you change the regulator on a propane BBQ to a accept Butane ?

c/ I know that gas is gas but does it make a difference to the cooking efficiency dependant upon which gas you use ?

Proprane is a much hotter gas, far better to cook with. From experience.

Live in the middle of no where in the UK, due to the many electric cuts I have always cooked with bottled gas.

Paul,

The Inter-Gas Propane (blue bottle) generally comes in a 10kg size which lasts for ages and is perfect for cooking both on the BBQ and a gas hob.

The regulator is easily changed to the one required here which can be bought in most supermarkets DIY stores (Yapi marketen) here. I know the little Yapi Market in Esentepe sells the regulators.

It's only a jubilee clip to loosen and replace the regulator and your BBQ will work fine...

They are propane/LPG I think... i.e. the usual mix of gases that produce the correct thermal output for the region you are in... the amount of propane varies depending on median ambient temperature I believe...

The regulators cost approx 20-25 YTL... if they try to charge any more look elsewhere...
