Last night a ferry carrying passengers and vehicles was hijacked by a terrorist who claimed he was armed as a human bomb and kept the ferry circling round in Marmara Sea. The pirate refused to surrender and pulled off the GPS system to avoid tracking by satellite. The ferry was followed closely by helicopters and SAS boats. The ordeal had only lasted for 6-7 hours when the Turkish SAS boarded the ferry and shot the terrorist dead, with not a single passenger injured (yet again! - as they have always done in such operations...)

Currently suffering serious losses in the East, clearly the PKK who are in total disarray, are getting desperate. They are now trying soft targets by having a go at piracy. Something they will probably find not very successful because of high alert and readiness of the security forces for such events in urban areas.
