I am thinking of bringing my car from the UK. I will be using it nearly every week to go to Larnaca Airport to travel for work, leaving it there for minimum of 2 days then returning to the North will i be liable to pay tax if it is leaving on a weekly basis. Please help all advice welcomed.

I don't think the fact that it leaves will have anything to do with it. If you are resident here and you import a vehicle then you must pay tax in your place of residence. Personally, I would buy a car here. There are thousands sitting on forecourts that need to be sold so it must be a buyer's market.

Add up the costs of getting it here to the potentially 70% import and other duties. The value used for tax bears no relationship to what you pay, it is taxed on the rules of the week!!!!

Joandjelly is right if you live here then tax is due the authorities are clamping down (rightly so) on uk plated cars that appear to be here and leave before the tax is due then come back again. Best bet is to buy here
