We have only just today put the electric blanket back on the bed,I felt the cold last night.

We have still not needed a fire and am sitting here in my summer nightdress not even a dressing gown on

Not a good day though to dry the washing..

Just like you Woodspeckie in my Cheshire village today it has been lovely, been in the garden, (no heating on all day)! and beautiful sunshine just listening to Countryfile weather! and although there will be some rain, still warm!

It is strange (the weather I mean) but the trees are such a wonderful colour! and all the plants still blooming!

Now waiting for the snow/ice to kill them all off :-(

It's been yet another lovely day here in Suffolk. Beautiful blue skies, sunshine and pleasantly warm.

Countryside also looks a picture.

Long may it last

Never fails to amaze me in N/C how temps can differ from East to West. Leccy blanket needed when we stay one side, not needed some weeks later when we stay the other side !!

Jeannie (mess 12)

I agree long may it last!

Pipie (mess 13)

The sun can differ anywhere from east to west, and from north to south! sometimes temps anywhere in the world can be good/bad! in the UK tonight don't need an electric blanket, or even heating it's strange but nice

That's what I like about this forum, we can talk from anywhere? we don't have to live in the TRNC!

For those of you living in Cyprus and if in a property like many describe as a concrete tent (I call them concrete sponges) I urge you to consider using some form of dry heat (radiators or log burning stove) for at least a few hours every evening or early morning. It maybe that you feel comfortable in the current cooler weather but there has been rainfall and more is forecast for this week. Dampness can easily penetrate outer and inner walls, your bedding and soft furnishings, and the clothes in wardrobes. This can be present long before there are any visual signs such as flaking plaster and paint on walls plus growth of mildew. Susceptibility to bronchial ailments and pneumonia is otherwise greatly increased. I base this opinion on having aggregated over 12 years of living in a Mediterranean climate including Gibraltar but a very large majority in Cyprus. Perhaps a disproportionate amount of a budget but Cyprus cannot be enjoyed to the full if taken by illness.

Cannot beat under floor heating in my opinion, however N/C winters are normally short so duel warm aircon, leccy blankets and warm slippers in house are sufficient for us in the winter months.
