Announcing the latest decisions taken by the Council of Ministers at the end of yesterday’s session, the Minister of Public Works and Communications Salih Usar said hunters were banned from hunting partridges and francolins- which are facing the danger of extinction for the remainder of the Big Hunting Season between the 30th November- 28th December. Small Game Hunting Season Mr Usar also informed that the Small Game Hunting Season will start on the 11th of January next year as scheduled and that further details will be announced in the coming days. | The hunters are furious at the council of ministers and the government.. They are saying the fact that partridges and francolins were facing danger of extinction is not new and everyone including the officials knew this for some time.. Instead of announcing this few weeks earlier and not opening the shooting season at all they kept quiet and waitied for all the hunters to renew their hunting licences then announce the ban.. |

Hi iceman, It would appear that it's not only the expat community that are effected by government rule & law changes without notice. Looks like we're all in the same boat.

We sure are Navek. This administration is out to get as much money from all of us as possible.. Have you noticed the number of mobile speed traps the police has started setting up on the roads lately? As we are approaching end of year, they have gone crazy trying to gather the 13th salary they will pay the civil servants..

Navek, they already are paid monthly but at year end they get bonus of one extra month's salary... This is the bonus for watching someone else do the work while they read the paper or smoke or make a phone call to their family or drink coffee or stare at the customers as if they have no business disturbing their otherwise peaceful existence.... ;¬)

last year hubby was refused his hunting licence because" all of the english have been complaining about hunting" so he wasn't very happy. so you can have a gun but your not allowed to use it? we just keep it now incase the neighbours get out of hand ,lol. i do think that all the mass construction has done as much damage to the wildlife as the hunters have.
