Does anyone know where I may be able to obtain a new cylinder and piston for a McCulloch Mac Cat 435 chainsaw?

If you are coming from Girne, its on the right just after Bo Thai restaurant, its sat back off the road just after the turning to the Malpas Hotel and he usually has a lot of things outside. Hope this helps. Phone number is 0542 8559028 or 03928244645.

If you need a new piston and barrel the cause is probably lean burn, but seeing your profile you will know that .

McCullouch are at the lower end of the chainsaws it possibly isn't worth it, Internet is your best bet try wwwmccullouch.co

My advice is buy Husquvarna ,Shtill ,Jonsred, Dolmar or some models of Makita.

For those who may read this thread "lean burn' is caused by either not enough or too much oil in the mixture, incorrect carb adjustment, or more commonly running with a blunt chain, the chain produces sawdust instead of chips and blocks air filter.

The way to tell is to remove the exhaust and inspect the cylinder bore you will see the tell tale scoring.

New piston and barrel is the only answer on smaller/cheaper saws it usually isn't worth it.

Moral sharpen your chain regularly, use correct mixture and clean your air filter.

There is an excellent T/C who does repairs to chain saws and can supply new chains as well as sharpening old chains. Slightly difficult to direct you but here is a try. Go to the big mosque in Lefkosia from there walk down to the old covered market, which I believe is being renovated. Go down the right side of the covered market and on your right hand side is a series of garage like shops. He is about halfway down, opposite a small cafe. Just ask around and you will find him.

Thanks carian for the directions and Hippo for your comments, I have already looked on the internet and can obtain the parts from the UK, but need to use the chain saw now. I have a Stihl chainsaw in the UK, but not much use there! Thanks also pc4845 for the info on the T/C in Lefkosia. I will give them a try for spare parts, if not order from the UK.
