Messge 2, yes I agree, it shouldn't be allowed, I never go into pet shops if they have puppies or kittens in them. I don't even like to go in if there are birds in cages. Pet shops should be re-inventedand called Pet Food Shops.

stella if you came here from the european countrys you have to saw the pet shops over there thats a legal think i love the animals i got 12 dog at my house so much birds chikens ducks..... but evry one just making this job for earn money but im not doing this i love the animals and im looking them professionaly if you want you can visit our pet shop and you can see there..... BIÇAK = WE ARE TAKİN THEM FROM MAGAR TURKEY AND BULGARİSTAN

in the uk lots of birds live in small cages and fish in bowls.

Im sorry but why buy when so many need to be rescued. I fail to understand. In your country you have so many beautiful creatures needing homes, we do not need puppy farms, bird farms etc, never buy when you can go to KAR and rescue x

Buying or rescuing is personal choice.

I do not like to see animals in a petshop but in many European countries it is the way it is.

why are you all making negative comments there i post this note to make an advertisement and to make information for you guys that have small or big animals at your houses if you need some supplys or info about your animal for a dog or bird ETC.. i dont need the negative comments this happens all around the world for example in china =)) they have petshops over there to =)) in london of course in america.They sell crocodiles if you want you can go there and tell them to stop selling them =)) this is not right.İf you have a dog what do you feed to him or her ? vegetables ? no you have to give meat so you need to go to the market and get the small tins or bıg can foods. what kind of can food is this they are animal kidney turkey ? if you like the animals you have to think about things as well.İ just gave information to this web site. if have a pet at your home you can come and lget something for your pet.İ dont just sell live animals and i dont use small cages

The problem is that, as you must know, there are so many feral dogs are cats roaming the Ilsland suffering from starvation etc. and at risk of poison. , And some people buy a dog for the wrong reasons and then abandon it when they find it too expensive or difficult or leave the Island. Some of us feel there should be restrictions on the sale of these animals at least until the problem of strays has been sorted.



I realise that everyone has to make a living - but could you not concentrate on the rarer pets (if they are kept in proper conditions) and not sell dogs and cats.



I am sure there are plenty of us who would be glad to buy reasonably good priced pet food, and leads , collars, beds, toys etc. if you set a good example by refusing to sell dogs and cats and risk adding to the stray population.



Maybe you could work out some way of encouraging people to adopt strays - then they would have to come to you for food, collara and leads etc!

bizzi i agree., saw so many there with designer handbags with a disigner dog in it.Until the concept of knowing how to care comes in and can support the buying of correct food injections etc then I will accept that need. Why should there be a ban on selling animals to those who want them and can afford to pay and care for them.?

Its personal choice. Why do you feel you have the right to judge others?

Everyone to their own.

The restriction i feel should be inplace is those who brought dogs here or took them on whilst here should be made by law to take them with them when they leave the TRNC. Instead of dumping them and leaving others to clear up their mess.

A dog is for life not just for Christmas!
