This is a Little Owl and they are not particularly nocturnal. I often saw them, and heard their screeching call, in daylight in the UK.

That's amazing Hans!

And what a coincidence - because I also saw a bird of prey today, sat on one of our window ledges below......yes, you've got it......an aircon unit!

They must really like aircons

It didn't even move when I climbed on the roof to replace the tiles dislodged in last night's storm!

In fact it's still there!

Can anyone identify it for me?

Just to help with the identification, it's about a foot high, and appears to be made of some sort of lightweight plastic

- and NO, the pigeons take absolutely no notice of it...
