| For those who'd like a more realistic open-water swimming challenge, I recommend you train for and enter the one-nautical-mile bay-to-bay swim that is held every July at the British base in Episkopi - it is very well organised event :

| I have no doubt somebody will one day attempt to swim around the Island, but at this moment in time it would be an illegal act, as when you enter the waters to the South you will be hauled out of the water and charged with entering via an illegal port\beach.
Not too much trouble really, but I feel the machine gun bullet holes in the support boat may be an issue.
If you are looking for sponsorship for this escapade, may I suggest you start with a table at the Sunday market at Soyz bar, and I will gladly visit, and pledge 10TL. |
