Does anyone know what the current cost is for an electricity meter from Kibtek, i.e. the cost and deposit for a British person?

Thanks in advance.

Paul90. I was quoted 1640tl for water meter by Girne last month. The figure I quoted I looked up for you under the 'electricity' forum and that was what was quoted by another member earlier this month. It may very in different areas. Hope this helps.

Message 7 - could I ask what area you are in please as this sounds awfully cheap compared to 1427 and more.

I wondered whether you are a Cypriot citizen. Is that why your deposit is low?

Not nosy particularly, just curious (is it the same thing)?

I went to Kibtek this week.

What they told me backs up mesunshine.

Charges changed two weeks ago and the new costs are about £70 to buy the meter plus 469 TL deposit.

When I succeed in getting the meter I will confirm the final figures.

Electricity connection always used to be dealt with through Kibtek, regardless of which district the property was in. I think the price was the same everywhere. It was never anything to do with the local Belediye or Muhtar (they did the water, and those prices did vary a lot).

Has this system now changed?

I suggest that you all start at Kibtek and only go elsewhere if Kibtek instruct you to.
